Carlos Morales: A native of Puerto Rico, the Isla del Encanto, Carlos Morales brings his enthusiasm and explosive energy to our Spanish time. Carlos cohosts the nightly program Amigos and runs the programs from 7:00 p.m. onward. He is a regular on Family PrayerTime Live. He also works behind the scenes in production. Carlos is a beloved member of the team. He's notable for his cheerful smile and caring heart. Carlos is the type of man who will give you the shirt off his back. Behind the microphone or off the air, Carlos is the same humble Christian. Carlos is married to Carmen Gutierrez, also on staff. You can e-mail Carlos direct: espanol@therockradio.org

Maria del Carmen Nieves: Maria del Carmen works in our radio offices, taking care of everything from radio correspondence, billing, and contacts with programmers, to all the other office business! You also hear her on "Amigos" and "Family PrayerTime Live." If you're interested in having a program on The Rock, or if you have any official Rock business, she's your man. Maria comes to us after a long career as the lady you talked to in the customer-service department at Claro Telephone Company. So she's comfortable on the phone! Ring her at 787-724-1190 or just e-mail radio@therockradio.org.

Dalan Decker: Dalan wears several hats. Host of Family PrayerTime Live, Update, and the Afternoon Drive Home, you hear him throughout the day. He helps out with the writing around The Rock for newsletters, letters, and of course the website. Dalan is married to Elise, a puertorriqueña born and raised in San Juan. They share a passion for adventurous cooking, far too many books, and locally-grown coffee with hot chocolate. Their home doubles as an overflowing library (containing every Malcom Gladwell book to date). Dalan is also a published freelance author with articles in multiple Christian and secular publications. He has published two Christian children's mystery novels which are available on Amazon.com

Jaime Sandoval: Jaime has served at The Rock in a variety of roles over the years. Today, he is back as one of our announcers and producers. You hear him all the time during the Spanish programming, as he and Carlos trade places for the "Amigos" program and in the other announcements. Jaime also works on the weekends, making sure the programs you hear come out when they're supposed to. Jaime brings a passion for exact timing to all he does. He has spent months of hard work checking and rechecking our scheduling software, working out some small bugs here and there to be sure that every program is scheduled in its exact spot. Originally from the Domincan Republic, Jaime has spent time much of his life in Puerto Rico as well as the mainland USA.

Ruth Luttrell: The beloved and respected Cofounder of CEM and The Rock Radio Network, this woman of God is known as "Mama" Ruth. A native of Lakewood, Ohio, Ruth was born to parents from Austria and Czechoslovakia. Ruth and her husband Don moved to Vieques, Puerto Rico in 1952 to begin the ministry that would eventually grow into the present-day work of The Rock Radio Network and the Bible Correspondence School of the Caribbean. Ruth is respected alike for her deep knowledge of the Word and her saintly testimony. She is an inspiration to all who know her. As President Emeritus, Ruth works hard in the office every day, serving as a liaison between the ministry and its friends and donors.

Janet Luttrell: She's a Missionary Kid all grown up. When she was just four years old, Janet hit the mission field of Vieques, Puerto Rico along with her parents Ruth and Don. Janet took over the controls of WIVV at age 12, and she's never looked back. Soaking up lessons of godliness, leadership, and radio, she's uniquely equipped to lead a bilingual ministry. Like many others on staff, Janet is 100% bilingual. If you listen carefully, you just may hear a few jíbaro phrases here and there! Janet serves in the office with all the complications of running a ministry. She also makes time for the Update program. Janet trots the globe on the behalf of CEM and the Caribbean. Some of her recent trips have taken her to Budapest, Hungary, and Nashville, TN.

Nita Luttrell: Born in Vieques to missionary parents, Nita is one of the unsung heroes at The Rock. As our Vice President, she's also the Properties and Finance Manager. That means doing things as exciting as sweeping the steps and making sure the renters are happy! She does much with little and somehow always finds a way to make the ministry funds stretch a little further so that more people will hear the Good News. Nita is well known for keeping her finger on the latest developments in Bible prophecy and Israel. She leads tours to the Holy Land several times a year. For info on the next trip, legal requirements, and what it costs, just get in touch with us at 787-724-1190. Shalom!

Carmen Gutierrez: What would we do without Carmen? There's only one way to describe this modern-day saint: amazing. Originally from Michigan of parents from Puerto Rico and México, Carmen combines the best of both. In the Administration office, Carmen juggles all the endless forms associated with any professional enterprise. She also lays out the newsletters, assists Ruth and Janet in their work, and takes care of staff issues like recruitment and hiring. Somehow she also finds the time to plan parties, appear on Family PrayerTime Live and the Update, and keep an eye on the BCS. Carmen is married to Carlos Morales, who is also on staff.

Lawrence Trumbower: Mention that name to any radio insider in Puerto Rico, and you will be blown away by the positive response. Not only has this man earned a reputation as one of the top engineers in his field, he also has a name you can bank on. His integrity and basic fairness gives him a witness for Jesus Christ and makes him a living legend in Puerto Rico. As the Scripture says, "A good name is better than great riches." (Proverbs 22:1) An occasional on Family PrayerTime Live, Trumbower lends his voice to a few announcements here and there. Lawrence came to Puerto Rico over 40 years ago to found the missionary radio station WCGB. When that station joined The Rock in 2004, he came with it. Lawrence' work keeps The Rock on the air day after day.

Bill Heffley: Bill has a long history at The Rock Radio Network. As a student, he volunteered at WIVV back in the 70's. After graduating, he worked with Moody Radio in Chicago and as engineer-in-charge of WRMB-FM in Florida. Then came to Puerto Rico in 1987 and worked with WIVV and WBMJ. He spent about 8 years here before leaving Puerto Rico in 1995. After working in other industries for a while, he rejoined us in 2006. Bill is the kind of guy who can open up a complicated piece of equipment and actually understand what all those little green boards, transistors, wires, and tiny bits and pieces are for. He never stops inventing new devices and resurrecting old ones. A case in point: in the main studio, whenever the microphones are on, the phone is muted. So how can on-air staff know when someone is calling? Easy! Bill rigged up a bright light in the studio to flash whenever the phone rings. In these and many more ways, Bill works to make things easier for everyone.

Madeline Burgos also served at WCGB before it joined The Rock. Today she takes care of the day to day operation and programming of WCGB. That station splits from the main Network 3 hours a day every weekday, and Madeline is there to make sure it all runs smoothly. She also goes on the air with local news and events. Madeline spotchecks some of the work the guys up in San Juan do to make sure we're FCC compliant! She's known for her cheerful smile, gentle warmth, and as a great mother and wife. She and her husband Franciso have a daughter (and lots of Girl Scout cookies).

Judith Pérez: Any music that comes out on The Rock must fulfill two strict guidelines: it must have very clear lyrics (we're not FM), and it must have a Christ-centered message (we're not entertainment). Judith's story is proof that God does work miracles today. She grew up in a tough neighborhood in San Juan and only came to know the Lord later on. Saved and redeemed, today she is a singer/songwriter with the Christian group Labranza and an integral part of The Rock's team. Judy and her husband Ray Calderón have three children. Are you an artist or agent? Judith wants to hear from you at music@therockradio.org

Wanda Candelaria labors in the back offices as an accountant. Her careful eye watches every expenditure and income. She also takes care of important things like payroll, missionary support, insurance forms, and other critical items. Her patience is endless, and she makes the most complicated parts of it all sound so easy. Wanda's job is to make sure that every penny which goes through CEM, Inc. is used to further God's work on earth in the most ethical, transparent, and careful manner. Wanda is married to her husband Alfredo.

Madeline Olivieri is a new addition to the team in Donor Services. A native of Puerto Rico, she's already making her presence felt in a big way on Family PrayerTime Live and around the office. Noted for a kind sense of humor and a creative flair for dressing (think violets and purples), Madeline's passion is to serve God. She actively pursues good testimonies from listeners to share with the rest of the staff. She loves her white baby-grand piano she calls "Opalo." She has a traveling music ministry with her keyboard named "Rachmaninoff." Madeline believes that God is concerned with every detail of our lives - even the little ones, like what we should wear. "The Holy Spirit is my fashion consultant," she says. "Every morning I get up and I say, 'Señor, what would you like me to wear this morning?'" We're guessing that the good Lord has a thing for violet.

Miriam Soto is from Brooklyn, and don't you forget that! Not that you would be able to, what with the accent and all. This peppery woman of God takes care of the phones and the front desk here at our offices on Ponce de León Avenue. She's always got a good word for staff members and visitors alike. Miriam really has a crush on Tony the Frog from our Kids Time radio program The Pond. "He grew up in a pond in Brooklyn," she explains, referring to his New York accent. "So we brothas." That being said, Miriam kissed a frog and out popped her prince charming Johnny Rodriguez, who takes care of our computers. Miriam appears occasionally on Family PrayerTime Live.

Mauricio Amaro: Strong as an ox, and just as trustworthy. Mauricio is a real hero at WIVV who keeps that place humming! There's a lot of details to running WIVV that might not occur to the casual observer - like mowing the huge tower field, making sure there's fuel in the generator, filling out the required FCC documents, and running the station Saturday mornings when it goes to local programming. Lately Mauricio's been expanding into automation technology as well! Those who love WIVV owe this man of God a real debt of gratitude. Our work there would never happen without his dedicated help.

David Luttrell: When it comes to dirty hard work, there is nobody on staff quite like David. He's one of the Luttrell clan that grew up with WIVV on Vieques. David labors around the Network to keep the big stuff working. Whether it's a tower that needs to come crashing down or a roof that needs painting, whether someone has to go fetch 4,000 bottles of Cristalia® water or we need a generator now, David is there to help. He can weld, shape, and work steel into just about anything. For instance, we have a huge round table in our giant studio upstairs which is the envy of every radio station in Puerto Rico. David built it from scratch. When the new station went up in Vieques, we couldn't find the desks and tables that would work for the space. So David just built them, and he built them to last, from steel beams and marine-grade, pest-proof plastic board. David is a great dad to his sons Michael and Matthew, and he involves them in his daily work.

Hector Corcino: A faithful and much-loved member of the team on Vieques, Don Hector Corcino also sees to it that WIVV stays on the air and in tip-top shape. There's always maintenance work to be done around any radio station and transmitter site. From filling out the transmitter logs, to mowing the huge field around the tower, to moving and rapairing equipment. Don Hector is also the man you need when you're going to try fishing on Vieques! He knows the best spots and how to make 'em bite. With a quiet smile and humble attitude, Don Hector typifies the background servant of Jesus Christ. You may not catch him on the air, but you would never hear the rest of us without his work. He's also a wealth of stories about Vieques and its history. When it comes to the outdoors and nature, he seems to know just about everything. Ask him when the jobos are ripe next time you head to Vieques - you're in for a real treat!

Paco Vega has been volunteering with the Bible Correspondence School of the Caribbean for years now. Not only grading lessons, he also works to produce the show "Voces de la Escuela Bíblica," which airs daily on The Rock. Paco is faithful in showing up for Family PrayerTime Live every Friday, where he prays for listeners in Spanish. Paco is well loved for his devotion to the Word, his wicked sense of humor, and his storytelling skills. He has a wealth of insight and stories to share! Paco is married to Eva, who also volunteers on occasion in the BCS.

Johnny Rodríguez: See that determined look on his face? A native of the Bronx, Johnny brings his knowledge of all things computers to our server room. He's actually the guy who takes care of the information systems for all of AT&T's computers on the island. Johnny volunteers his time with The Rock and CEM to make sure that all of our data is secured, safe, and backed up. He finds creative ways of making less equipment do more. Johnny is especially valued in the BCS, where he is always working on the website. Johnny Rodríguez is married to Miriam Soto.
