Wow! Look what you did for Haiti!

Since the terrible earthquake in Haiti, we have been partnering with local ministries to help you get help to the survivors.  Our goal has been to make sure that your heartfelt gifts go to legitimate organizations with people on the ground there, to ensure that the aid makes it to those who need it instead of winding up in the hands of thugs or just plain wasted.

Part of that effort was the collection center we set up at our station WCGB.  We were blown away by the response!  Members of our listening family on the south side of Puerto Rico streamed in to give everything from nonperishable food and water, to shoes and diapers, to even a tent!  The U.S. Army came on February 9, 2010 to pick up the supplies.  They are going to ferry them to Haiti and get them into needy hands.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Collections we sponsored at Christian Community Church in Guaynabo and at Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Carolina also went off wonderfully.  At both places, the outpouring of support was amazing!  Army trucks went away laden with thousands of items.
